Click here to learn what to expect prior, during and after your Acupuncture appointment. Some basic aspects will be common to all Acupuncturists and some aspects are more specific to the AcuTutor's style of treatment.

Where Does Acupuncture Come From?
Learn about the history of Acupuncture, how long it's been around, where it came from, and who "invented" it. Learn the basic principles of Taoist / Daoist and classical
Chinese thought and theory.

Basic TCM Theory
Break down the theory behind Traditional Chinese Medicine and learn the basics of TCM diagnosis and treatments. This is a basic understanding for laypeople and not for students of TCM. Learn also the differences between TCM and different styles.

Other Styles of Treatment
Besides TCM, learn about other styles of treatment available and how to differentiate them when picking your Acupuncturist. If you aren't a fan of Acupuncture, it's probably not the Acupuncture - it's the Acupuncturist. Try someone new!

Dry Needling vs. Traditional?
Learn the difference between a classical / traditional style of needling and the style practiced by a Physiotherapist, an IMS practitioner, and orthopaedic needling. All of these practices have their place and their use in your health and treatment.

Recommended Reading
Learn some of the books I would recommend to my patients for to understand both their treatment, themselves and Chinese Medical Theory as a whole. These books range from a simple to complex understanding of Chinese Medicine.

The Chinese Medicine Classics
Learn about the classical medical texts studied and written by the masters of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Learn where they came from and learn how this knowledge was passed down before they were written.

Fertility Treatments
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help with both Male and Female Infertility. These treatments always include a combination of Acupuncture and Diet Therapy, which is essential to a successful conception and pregnancy.
